This is part one of five of an in-depth discussion I had with Pierce Mattie on the subject of blogging and public relations. I discuss issues of respect, the passion of bloggers, and community spirit.
This is the second part of our five part discussion. We discuss the hierarchy of fashion, editors and bloggings, how a publicist should interact with a blog, and being a
anonymous blogger.
Interesting discussion, even for people like me who are bored by product posts, the push and pull between industry and consumer always makes for fascinating content.
Just as that fine line between professional and amateur is interesting. Your efforts will definitely help the beauty bloggers, and provides an interesting glimpse of the PR industry’s motivations and concerns regarding bloggers. It brings up how bloggers are redefining their own positions, rights, and motivations. Thanks for sharing the video.
It was a very interesting discussion; the third segment of the first interview is now available on the Pierce Mattie blog and can be found on you tube. We will post the rest this week with complete transcripts for your convenience.
The face-to-face time with bloggers was most rewarding to those I spoke with at Pierce Mattie PR. Such a simple thing to do, make personal contact. Just goes to show you how important it is to connect and be apart of a community. I look forward to reading your posts, answering your questions, sharing ideas in the future.
We have posted some images of the event on flicker and are trying to have people “claim them. So if your in the photo, post a comment and let us know it’s you and what your blog is and where we can find you online! Our flicker name is: publicrelations. http://www.flickr.com/photos/publicrelations/
