Today I had the great privilege of visiting Nolita boutique Lilith on 227 Mulberry Street. I must have passed this delightful little boutique a hundred times in my comings and goings but I hadn’t ever gone in for a serious look until today.
And I must say I am quite glad I did. Lilith does not yet have a presence on the web so this is certainly the best way to get a preview without making the trek to Nolita. In this video, the General Manager of Lilith USA Dominique Debroux takes me on a tour of Lilith. She talks about Lilith’s customers and mix and matches from the spring ‘06 line.
The space is really quite comforting with its open spaces and wood floors. The clothing beautifully lined the curving walls. What impressed me the most was that I couldn’t tell if every piece was logically placed near others that happened be perfectly styled to go together or if all of the pieces in the store were simply that versatile.
My only complaint is that the price points for many of the more complex pieces are solidly out of my range. $440 dollars for a well crafted dress is nothing to be astonished about these days of course but nonetheless it puts these fine pieces out of the realm of possibility for your average consumer. That said, everything was certainly designed to last the seasons and I can see many of the pieces being great investments. Being French made and designed the quality was impressive. But if you go in the next two weeks many of their pieces are substantially marked down for their summer sale and you can snag a bargain or two. I highly suggest picking up their ballet skirts in the mesh tulle!
But not being in the market for investment pieces I myself purchased a reversible long silhouette seaform cotton tank top that will go perfectly over my favorite new pair of white skinny jeans from Girlshop. They gave me a perfect linen tote in which to carry it too!

I have a wonderful black with slight pinstripe Lilith corset style of vest. I got a big tear in the side and as there is absolutely no extra fabric to fix the problem – I need to get a piece of fabric for the Black cotton/wool striped corset with a pleated bust . I totally love this piece and would either buy another or buy fabric to mend – can anyone help?
