Recently I purchased all of the various accoutrements that Elke had used to create my fantastic party hair at the Coutorture launch party figuring with all of Elke’s advice and the right products I should be able to have fantastic big hair on my own. I have a meeting with my editor at Fashion Wire Daily so I thought I should look extra spiffy today!

So I applied the Aussie mousse to my hair to create volume from the blow-out.

I twirled my hair around the hot curling iron (as opposed to using the snag thing in the iron). The only problem is that twirling as opposed to using the clip thing on the iron is that it requires a certain degree of skill which I don’t have. I actually burned my thumb!

I clipped up the curls and applied lots of Aussie hair spray as instructed by Elke.

I left it in for 30 minutes as I checked my email and did my makeup. BUT HORROR OF HORRORS when I actually took it down to reveal this-frizzy freaking sausage curls! AYYYYYYY!
But it gets worse! The curls are all sausage like so I attempt to let out the curl a little by fluffing with my hands except I get flat hair on top with big frizz out to the side.
People with naturally curly hair wake up with this problem. It is not an issue that people with perfect long straight hair try to recreate let me tell you.
It was way too awful in the front to just let it wear so with a little emergency hair pulling back I managed to find a hair tie with a flower to do some damage control so now I just look like I am capturing my naturally wavy hair with a tie and a clever pin. Sigh…….this proves that blow outs should be left to the professionals. What a life! And what a waist of time

If it’s any consolation, your post has been helpful to me. You see, my daughter was recently in a play and I found it difficult to impossible to make those sausage ringlets, but that was what was required for her character’s hair-do. (Don’t ask me why.) Now I know just what to do.
And now everyone else can know why I don’t do anything with my hair other than blow-dry it upside down. Too much can go wrong!
As a naturally curly girly myself, I sympathise. Try some frizz ease next time!
I think that’s Elke’ secret…no one can replicate her fine techniques! lol.
