State of The Fashion: Countdown To Fashion Week 6.1 Ads, Brands, and Fashion

Omiru has responded to my question “what will fashion advertising look like in the new media?” with an interesting post. Her key points are as follows:

Branding-focused ad campaigns aren’t going to disappear anytime soon, but industry execs will measure them against more solid metrics than the pseudo-quantitative “brand value.”
-Direct response fashion advertisements aren’t going to look like standard
Google text ads.  Innovation is needed in this space, and these ads will likely have to include an image of some kind.
-Fashion is being democratized, and fashion advertisements will reflect this.
While the majority of fashion ads might still be from Big Companies, we’regoing to see the voices of more smaller fashion companies as well.

But you should really just read her post!
