The first Coutorture Salon is nearly ready! We “dreamed up the idea”:http://almostgirl.coffeespoons.org/?p=1197 as a way to promote community, traffic and of course critical thinking. The Budget Babe asks to explore the Psychology of Affordable Luxury She points out some of the tricks fashion houses use to coax us into buying what she calls “consolation prizes” by setting the prices of their top goods ever higher.

Pink Rock Candy asks How Accessible is Too Accessible?. Her bottom line regarding accessible luxury lines like Coach and DKNY is chilling. Its all celeb-line fun and capsule-collection games until the fashion industry gets hurt!

Platinum Blond Life believes we consume luxury fast and furiously and no matter what tier of brands we consume we are always looking for the next better product.

And the piece most I personally find the most fascinating: Poetic and Chic believes that affordable and luxury cannot and should not go together. With a background working at LVMH she has more insight onto this topic than most of us and I say it would do us all good to read this piece VERY carefully.
